PB CONSULT plans transport facilities east branch urban-urban railway | StUB

04. October 2022

The Stadt-Umland-Bahn (StUB) is currently one of the largest tramway projects in Germany. In the future, the StUB will connect the three business locations of Nuremberg, Erlangen and Herzogenaurach as an efficient, environmentally friendly, barrier-free and attractive means of transport and create a fast and, above all, sustainable transport alternative for the metropolitan region.

PB CONSULT has been supporting the StUB engineering consortium since 2017 in the planning of the transport facilities for the main line (L-network) of the Stadt-Umland-Bahn (StUB), and as part of a planning consortium (Mailänder Consult | Obermeyer Infrastruktur) we are also responsible for the further planning steps for the eastern branch of the StUB.

The eastern branch is to connect Erlangen (from Langemarckplatz) with the Eschenau station of the Gräfenbergbahn in Eckental. On its way there, the StUB will open up various communities and municipalities in the district of Erlangen Höchsstadt and Forchheim as a sustainable means of transport.
