Protected cycling under an underground railway line? Soon possible in Berlin!

The results of a feasibility study on the so-called “U1 cycle lane” have now been presented in Berlin. Together with our partner office Rambøll, we from PB CONSULT have examined the feasibility of two possible variants of a cycle lane under a section of the U1 line in the Kreuzberg district in terms of traffic planning and traffic engineering. These two variants were developed by the Reallabor Radbahn, with the objective that cyclists should be able to travel over a distance of several kilometres, protected from the weather and separated from other traffic. The results of the study and various public events are now available online here.
