New Construction of eBus-Port Nuremberg

At the bus depot in Nuremberg Schweinau, a new open hall building was erected next to the central bus workshop and the company depot as an eBus port, which serves to charge 39 electric buses. The construction area extended over the former VAG employee car park and a green area. The two parallel green roofs of the eBus-Port are supported by 44 reinforced concrete columns. This arrangement will allow each car park to be approached individually in future, which will considerably simplify operational processes. A PV system was also installed on the roof area. The traffic facilities were made of asphalt (lanes) and concrete (parking areas).

PB Consult was commissioned by VAG Nürnberg, represented by N-ERGIE Immobilen GmbH, for the planning and supervision of the traffic facilities (HOAI work phases 1-8), as well as the local construction supervision including special services.

Approx. 8,500 m³ of earthworks were required for the traffic facilities (chargeable costs € 3.6 million). Approx. 3,500 m² of concrete parking areas were realised under the roofs of the eBus-Port. The remaining 6,500 m² were constructed using asphalt. Drainage is provided by two central concrete slotted channels, which were connected to a trench drain. The eBus-Port was commissioned in summer 2021.
