Larger area light rail system (StUB, Stadt-Umland-Bahn): Regional planning procedure completed successfully
On Monday, 27 January 2020, the regional planning evaluation of a tram line with a length of approximately 25 km from the Nuremberg station “Am Wegfeld” to Herzogenaurach via Erlangen was published, thus marking the successful completion of the regional planning procedure. The line suggested by the engineering consortium StUB (Ramboll Deutschland, GRE Gauff Rail Engineering, Obermeyer Planen + Beraten, Planungsbüro Laukhuf and PB CONSULT) in cooperation with the joint body “Zweckverband Stadt-Umland-Bahn” was rated as sustainable with the exception of a short part in Tennenlohe, for which a suggestion of an alternative route that is deemed as sustainable has already been submitted. We are proud to announce that our efforts have been approved by the higher state planning agency and the planning activities can now continue in collaboration.
